In order to become a AFA^® Designation holder and enjoy the benefits of increased AFA salaries, candidates must pass two examinations of two hours and three hours respectively, have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution at the time of grant of certification and complete 2 levels of project work. To enrol for the program they need to be at least Intermediate (10+2). AFA^® certification examination is conducted by Pearson Vue across their Examination Centres. AFA charter holders are required to follow to a strict code of ethics and rules that governs both their professional and personal conduct.

The Curriculum of AFA^® Consist of two levels:

Level 1 : Foundation Level Consisting of 5 Units.

Level 2 : Advanced Level Consisting of 5 Units.
